well, the photo album still doesn’t look the way i want it too but it’s next on the “things to fix” list. other than that, the logo is pretty plain and i’m working on a new design so it’ll have to do for now. those two things are about it though. from here on out it won’t look much different than what you see now. i like it, mary likes it. as for the new stuff…

the commenting system sucked on the old site. the little character generator didn’t even show all of the letters half the time and the other half it would just say you typed it in wrong and boom, you just lost all that you typed. i also had no way to moderate what was said until after it was said. this wasn’t a huge problem mainly because it was made for comments, good and bad… so for the most part i don’t care too much what people put in there. anyway, the comment system is much better in my opinion. there is no more “security feature” that makes the commenter type in crap. you are however required to type in your name and e-mail address and of course your comment, but that’s it. your comment won’t be posted immediately though. it gets put into a queue, sends me an e-mail and then i login and accept or deny (moderate) the comment. then the comment is posted. plus there are some other security things going on in the background, but that’s for spam protection and whatnot. i think this system will be better for all.

the last website made it very difficult for me to add new pages. like the new “baby carter” page for instance. there’s not much there now but soon it will be a one-stop-shop for everything baby related. from mary’s ever growing belly all the way up until carter’s birth and beyond…

the new website has some color. i like the plain white look of the old site but thought it was time to add some color. also something that changed for the good, i had several people say that the navigation links at the top of the old site were difficult to see. i think they look much better on this site and are of course easier to find.

i also added some links to some of our friend’s websites because they’ve done the same for us. again, something i was unable to do easily with the old site.

also new is the “recent comments” section. that will show the latest comment and on what posts they were for, in one place. that way you won’t have to scroll down to a post to see if there was a new comment.

i think that’s about it. i also don’t want to type anymore and i’m sure you don’t want to read anymore. trust me though, there’ll be some even more cool things coming. like being able to embed a video right in the post so you won’t have to click on a link. that’ll be really cool in the baby carter section. ok, i’m out. i hope you guys enjoy the new look, leave a comment and let us know what you think.
